Collective Realignment #3
23rd of June 2016 at 7pm
Dock 11 (Studio), Kastanienallee 79, 10435 Berlin
The ZTB e.V. is inviting you to an open discussion with the main topic “Ways of communication”.
In which way are curators accessible?
This questions comes up both for the artists who apply with their projects, and for the curators themselves. Constant availability and accessibility are currently often promised- but ultimately just an illusion. What remains is the expectation that one is aware of the other’s position, and that one becomes aware of it with knowledge and respect.
This presupposes that the people and institutions which are involved, have a common goal.
But what is it that they have in common??
In order to talk about it, to avoid disappointment and false expectations, to have fair and clear communication at eye level, the ZTB e.V. invites artists and curators from Berlin's dance scene.
At this event, the curators will speak first about their respective positions and backgrounds.
During the following moderated talk, the opportunity will be given to think together with the artists about which strategies and ways of communication could be best for both sides.
This is not about general standards that don`t work for individual cases, but to talk concretely with the present curators about their accessibility and about their ways of communication.
The discussion will be in English.

We would like to let you know about International Notice, an artist-led project generating new discourse around performance made on the Berlin Free Scene. We aim to bring multiple voices together to produce a constantly evolving archive of original critical writing. For our upcoming funded pilot phase, we are now inviting performances being shown on the Berlin Free Scene in March and April 2016 to register their interest to be featured.
The full details of the Open Call are here <http://ow.ly/XLIdK> .
International Notice is a working group of How Do We Work It. The pilot phase has been funded by Lifelong Burning / Performance Situation Room, and has been supported by Tanzbüro and LAFT.

Collective realignment # 2
Invitation for Discussion on Artistic Needs
ZTB and Tanzbüro invite all dance makers to discuss and analyze our specific artistic needs and new strategic political agendas with a special focus on grants. Get involved to set a course that we as artists consider the right one.
Date: 10 November 2015
Time: 6 PM – 8:30 PM
Location: Uferstudios, Studio 2
We have chosen this moment to analyze, together with you, what such grants actually make possible for us as artists, and which arguments could be brought forward to convince deciding parties to extend the grant-program for choreographers.
The questions raised by this issue are essential like:
Why do we need grants?
How do we actually want to work in the future?
How can we further develop our own artistic practices without constantly throwing new productions on the market?
Or, above all, do we want to create artistic works, and what freedoms are most urgently needed to do so?
The event will be held in German and/or English.
